Our Goals
|
Founded in 2002, the NSSED Foundation has served as the place for families and staff to turn for non-mandated yet vital services and support. To meet the ever-growing needs of students, the Foundation concentrates its efforts in these four key areas:
1) Individual/Family Initiatives
These are programs that benefit individual students and their families, such as the College/Further Education Scholarship Program and the individual requests for exceptional student needs. 2) Community Initiatives
Through an ongoing Community Grant Program, the Foundation supports existing organizations and other non-profit organizations' efforts to enhance opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
3) Instructional Support
Non-mandated yet vital educational material and resources, such as Teaching Fellowships and Interactive Technology for the classroom, are a priority of the Foundation
4) Disability Awareness
In an effort to promote a more welcoming community for all, the Foundation supports programs and activities that heighten acceptance of individuals with disabilities.
